Yhteenveto
Keskimääräinen hoidon kesto oli 31 vuorokautta potilasta kohden kun potilaita hoidettiin endoluminaalisella imuhoitomenetelmällä peräsuolen resektion jälkeisen anastomoosivuodon takia. Potilaalla käytettyjen sienten lukumäärä oli keskimäärin 8 sientä.
85 %:ssa tapauksista vuotoaukko parani täydellisesti (combined successful average rate). [12]

Van Koperen et al. sarjan potilaiden onnistumisprosentin eroja voidaan selittää sillä, että tutkimus sisälsi myös potilasryhmän, jota hoidettiin Endo-SPONGE®:lla 6 viikkoa vuotovaiheen jälkeen, mikä pienensi onnistumisprosentin 56:een. Ilman tätä ryhmää onnistumisprosentti olisi 75 prosenttia ja keskimääräinen onnistumisprosentti olisi 88.
